WASHINGTON, DC-Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) yesterday met with 5th Congressional District student Moriah E. Morgan to recognize her unique and significant achievements. Ms. Morgan won the Congressional Arts Competition.
"Moriah is an extremely gifted artist and she produced an
exceptional entry this year"Morgan's winning entry, "Amish Horse and Buggy," was done in colored pencil. "Moriah is an extremely gifted artist and she produced an exceptional entry this year," Hoyer said. "Her artwork was one of many strong submissions, as 10 talented young artists from all five counties in our district entered the competition."
Morgan, who just completed her sophomore year at Churchville Christian School, met with Hoyer at the U.S. Capitol and participated in events recognizing competition winners from across the country. She resides in Hollywood and was joined on Capitol Hill by her mother, Kaylene.
The winning entries from each Member's district-wide contests will be on display in the U.S. Capitol for one year.
