The following local government offices will be closed on Independence Day (July 4th):
CHARLES COUNTY:
The offices of Charles County Government, the Tri-County Animal Shelter in Hughesville, MD, the Charles County Landfill and Composting Facility off Billingsley Road in Waldorf, and the Pisgah Recycling Center on Route 425 in Pisgah will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2006, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
Curbside Weekly Yard Waste Collection and every-other-week recycling services will be affected by the holiday. Those receiving Tuesday "A" Week recycling and Tuesday yard waste schedules will have their recyclables picked up on Wednesday, July 5. Since Wednesday is not a regularly scheduled curbside collection day, Thursday and Friday service will not be affected.
ST. MARY'S COUNTY:
There will be no Board of County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, July 4, 2006. The next regular meeting of the Board will be Tuesday, July 11, 2006.
St. Mary's County Government Offices, including the St. Andrews Landfill and six (6) Convenience Centers and the St. Mary's Transit System (STS) bus service, will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2006, in observance of Independence Day. Offices will be open and bus service will be running prior to and after the observed holiday.
