Another Routine Traffic Stop Nets Drug Arrest


On June 10 at 4:11 p.m., Officer J. Timko of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of St. Phillips Drive and Dorchester Circle in Waldorf because the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. Further investigation revealed the driver, Jonathan Evans Ruefly, 18, of Waldorf, was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

On June 15, he was charged via a criminal summons with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a court appearance. Ruefly also received a citation for not wearing his seatbelt.
