Between April 2006 and May 2006, Detectives from the St. Mary's Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) continued the investigation into several thefts and robberies that occurred to four Lexington Park businesses. The suspect would enter the establishments and when the cash register was open during the normal course of business, the suspect would grab the money and flee the store. In one of the incidents, the suspect pushed the clerk backwards before taking the money.
A suspect was developed and detectives set up surveillance awaiting the suspects arrival to an unrelated Lexington Park business. Once the suspect arrived, he was placed into custody on a District Court Failure to Appear Warrant. Detectives also obtained and executed a Search and Seizure Warrant on a residence in Lexington Park related to the case. Suspect Spencer Guy Thomas, age 32 of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with one count of Robbery, one count of Assault Second Degree, one count of Theft Over $500.00 and three counts of Theft Under $500.00.
Additional charges are pending a States Attorney and Grand Jury review. Information in this case was obtained through numerous sources to include Crime Solvers.
