Charles County: Disorderly & Attempted Armed Robbery


DISORDERLY: On June 4 at 1:14 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the Community Center on Sheffield Circle in Waldorf for a citizen’s request for assistance in clearing the parking lot of disorderly persons. Officers observed Marcus Antonio Butler, 22, of Waldorf cursing, yelling and attempting to fight other people. Officer R. Snyder attempted to arrest Butler and he resisted, however he was subdued and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner. Officer R. Snyder investigated.

ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY: On June 4 at 12:15 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Bannister Circle and Reeves Place in Waldorf for the attempted armed robbery report. Investigation revealed the victim, a 39-year-old Waldorf man, was pushing his scooter when two male suspects approached him and asked where he was going. One of the suspects kept his hand in his pocket and the victim felt as if he had a gun and was going to rob him. The victim was able to flee the area. The first suspect is described as a dark-complexioned black male and is 5 feet 8 inches tall. The other suspect is described as a light-complexioned black male and is 6 feet tall. Both suspects were wearing all black clothing and had red bandanas over their faces. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777. Officer R. Snyder is investigating.
