On Sunday, May 21, 2006 at 11:50 am, TFC A. Rossignol served John Ryland Rose, 42, of Leonardtown, with a criminal summons for 4th Degree Sex Offense. The charge resulted from an investigation initiated on May 20, 2006. (5Q00033612)

On Sunday, May 21, 2006 at 3:13 pm, a complainant responded to the Leonardtown Barrack and reported that a 15 year old friend had been threatened with a handgun by a known acquaintance. The case has been turned over to the Bureau of Criminal Enforcement for investigation. (0682005480)

On Monday, May 22, 2006 at 1:42 pm, TFC J. Linger responded to Charlotte Hall Veterans Home for a reported theft. The victim advised that money had been stolen from his wallet. Investigation is continuing by TFC J. Fleetwood. (0682005513)

On Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 12:44 am, Tpr. K. Shughart responded to Peach Tree Drive, Lexington Park, for a reported breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. On arrival the complainant/victim was seen standing beside his vehicle. The victim advised that when he came outside, he found the accused, Hank Walter Whiteside, 33, of Lexington Park, inside his vehicle. When Mr. Whiteside observed the victim at the vehicle’s door, he kicked the victim in the head and attempted to leave. Mr. Whiteside was detained by the victim until police arrived. Investigation revealed that thefts had occurred from a total of four vehicles. Mr. Whiteside was arrested and charged with theft and assault. Mr. Whiteside was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bond review. (0682005537)

On Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 12:50 pm, TFC P. Trossbach stopped a vehicle when the driver, Dale Allen Wathen, 23, of Hollywood, was observed not wearing a seatbelt. Upon contact with Mr. Wathen an odor of burnt marijuana was detected. A probable cause search revealed a bag of marijuana in the driver’s door pocket. Mr. Wathen was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bond review. On Thursday, May 25, 2006 at 11:23 pm, TFC J. Linger stopped a vehicle on Route 235 at St. Johns Road, Hollywood, when the driver was observed not wearing a seatbelt. A check through MVA revealed that the driver, Joseph Manning Milburn Jr., 28, of Great Mills, did not have a license and his privilege to drive was suspended. Mr. Milburn was placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest revealed a bag of cocaine in between the passenger seat and the center console. The passenger, John Jeremiah-Fitzpatrick Hebb, 19, of Lexington Park, was subsequently placed under arrest. Both, Mr. Milburn and Mr. Hebb were charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Milburn had an additional charge of Driving while Suspended. Both were taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bond review. (0682005651)

On Friday, May 26, 2006 at 1:17 am, TFC J. Linger stopped a vehicle for not having a working tag light, on Route 5 at MVA in Loveville. The driver was identified as Philip Mark Hendrickson, 28, of Leonardtown. During a consent search, brass knuckles were found in the passenger seat pocket. Mr. Hendrickson was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Concealed Deadly Weapon. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bond review. (0682005655)

On Friday, May 26, 2006 at 5:40 pm, TFC P. Trossbach stopped a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign on Jones Road at McIntosh in Hollywood. A check through MVA indicated the driver’s license was suspended. The driver, Joseph Wayne Dodson, 45, of Mechanicsville was arrested. A search incident to arrest revealed a smoking device, containing burnt cocaine residue, in the driver’s door. Cocaine was located inside the brim of his hat. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, and held pending a bond review. (0682005686)

On Friday, May 26, 2006 at 10:00 pm, TFC P. Trossbach stopped a vehicle for speeding on Route 5 at the Loveville Post Office. Upon contact with the driver, Michael Stephen Lehosky, 34, of Waldorf, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. The sobriety tests were completed successfully, however a pipe containing marijuana was located in his shoe. Mr. Lehosky was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bond review. (0682005697)

On Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 1:55 am, Cpl. J. Vanhoy arrested Ralph Ignatius Thomas, 24, of Mechanicsville, on two arrest warrants. The District Court Warrant was issued for Failing to Appear in Court for an assault charge. The Circuit Court Warrant was issued by Failing to Appear in Court for a possession of marijuana charge. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held on no bond. (18K06000057, 6Q00032773)

On Sunday, May 28, 2006 at 1:30 am, TFC J. Linger stopped a vehicle on Route 4 at S. Patuxent Beach Road, California, for following too close. The driver was identified as a 17 year old from Solomons. During conversation with the juvenile, an orange pill was observed on his lap. Poison Control was contacted. The pill was found to be a controlled dangerous substance. The juvenile did not have a prescription for the pill. He was arrested, taken to the Leonardtown Barrack, processed and released to a guardian. (0682005752)

On Sunday, May 28, 2006 at 11:15 pm, TFC L. Nims served John Alexander Harrod, 39, of Lusby, with a criminal summons to appear in court on an Assault charge. The charge resulted from an investigation initiated on May 19, 2006, on the Thomas Johnson Bridge. (0682005389, 6Q00033613)

On Monday, May 29, 2006 at 12:40 am, TFC J. Linger stopped a vehicle on Golden Beach Road at All Faith Church Road, Charlotte Hall, for having the rear tag covered. A strong odor of marijuana was detected immediately upon approach. The driver was identified as Robert Henry Palmer, 36, of Mechanicsville. A probable cause search produced two bags and a smoking device, each containing marijuana. Mr. Palmer was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia.

On Monday, May 29, 2006 at 7:17 am, Tpr. T. Long served Krystal Lynn Kauffman, 24, of Callaway, with a criminal summons to appear in court on a Destruction of Property charge. This charge resulted from an investigation initiated on May 2, 2006. (0682004767, 6Q00033620)

On Monday, May 29, 2006 at 11:00 am, TFC T. Quade arrested Alani Jiro Moore, 28, on a District Court Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear on DUI and driving while suspended charges. Mr. Moore was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held on no bond. (DX94382)

On Monday, May 29, 2006 at 12:49 pm, D/Sgt. J. McCauley initiated an investigation into the destruction of a front door at a residence on Cast Away Circle in Lexington Park. The victim advised that the damage had to occur from May 26, 2006 to May 29, 2006. (0682005811)

On Monday, May 29, 2006 at 2:29 pm, Tpr. K. Shughart served Tamara Elizabeth Higgs, 37, of Piney Point, with a criminal summons to appear in court on an Assault charge. The charge resulted from an investigation initiated on May 14, 2006. (0682005169, 0Q00033481)

On Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at 7:45 am, TFC T. Quade arrested William Antonio Briscoe, 19, of Lexington Park, on an Indictment from the St. Mary’s County Circuit Court for Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Briscoe was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held on no bond. (18K06000244)

On Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at 10:19 am, Cpl. R. Redmond served Anthony Allen Thompson, 24, of Leonardtown, with a criminal summons to appear in court on a Theft charge.
