The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office K-9 Team recently participated in the 8th Annual Iron Dog Challenge. The event was sponsored by the Virginia Police Work Dog Association and held in Fort Story, Virginia Beach, VA. The St. Mary's team placed 2nd in the competition. The deputy sheriffs who participated were: Deputy First Class Stephen Simonds and K-9 Kyra, Deputy First Class David Gerhardt and K-9 Frigo, and Deputy First Class Edward Evans and K-9 Yanic.
