On May 26 at 4 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 8600 block of Turkey Hill Road in La Plata for a motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed a 1982 Dodge pick-up truck was traveling south on Turkey Hill Road when the vehicle left the right side of the road, flipped over the guardrail onto its side and struck a tree. The driver was the sole occupant and was identified as Jason Michael Adams, 29, of Indian Head. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash. Adams was not wearing a seatbelt. Turkey Hill Road at Hunters Ridge and Skylark Drive was closed from 4 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for the investigation. Officer R. Glover of the Traffic Operations Unit is investigating.
