Equipment Violation Stop Nets Cocaine Arrest in The Park


On May 27, 2006, Dep. Robert L. Gill was patrolling the area of Tri-Community Way in Lexington Park. He observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and stopped the vehicle. He made contact with the driver, Geremy Michael Tilley, age 20 of Lexington Park, MD. The driver gave permission to search the vehicle. At that time, Dep. Gill noticed the passenger, James Anthony Tippett Jr. age 18 Lexington Park, MD, reaching under the seat in the vehicle. Under the passenger seat of the vehicle, Dep. Gill located a container of white powder, suspected cocaine. Both the driver and passenger claimed the container and contents were not theirs. Geremy Michael Tilley and James Anthony Tippett Jr. were arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance, Cocaine. Both were incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review with the District Court commissioner.
