Seatbelt Stop Nets Drug Arrest in Charles


POSSESSION OF CDS WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE: 05/24/06 2:33 a.m. A vehicle traveling southbound on U.S. Rt. 301 in the area of MD Rt. 228 was stopped for the driver not being restrained by his seat belt. Upon contact with the driver, D’Andre David Boyce, 18 years, of Bryans Road, suspected marijuana flakes were observed on his lap. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed a quantity of suspected crack cocaine. A computer check revealed Mr. Boyce was driving on a suspended license. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession not marijuana and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine. Mr. Boyce was incarcerated in the Charles County Detention Center pending a bond review. TFC J. Edelen conducted this investigation.
