LA PLATA, MD * The Charles County Department of Public Facilities announces that waterline construction on Washington Avenue will affect motorists on Wednesday and Thursday, May 24 and 25, 2006.
While the waterline construction is underway, traffic will be limited to one lane on Wednesday, May 24, until 7 p.m. At that time, Washington Avenue will close to through traffic until 4 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, to complete the construction. When Washington Avenue reopens Thursday morning, traffic will again be limited to a single lane to complete road repairs.
Signs have been erected to notify the public of the road closure and repairs.
Weather conditions may affect the schedule.
The Charles County Commissioners urge motorists to drive carefully and heed the flag staff who will be directing traffic while construction is underway.
