Woman Drives SUV Through Storefront Striking Two People


On May 20 at 10:07 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the Glymont Dash-In located at 5105 Indian Head Highway in Indian Head for the motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed Nancy Leigh Kerr, 18, of Indian Head was parking a 2005 Toyota Rav4 when she hit the accelerator instead of the brake, which caused the vehicle to crash through the store’s front window. Abdirahman A. Mohamed, 42, of Indian Head, an employee, was struck by the vehicle and knocked to the floor. He sustained minor injuries and was transported to Civista Medical Center. Brice Stoney Hamilton, 18, of Indian Head, a customer, was trapped under the front of the vehicle. He sustained non-life threatening injuries and was flown to the MedStar Unit at Washington Hospital Center by U.S. Park Police Eagle 2. Kerr was not injured. Officer J. Thompson is investigating.
