MSP Reports for St. Mary's


On Tuesday, May 10, 2006 at 9:00 am, TFC J. Linger responded to Fleetwood Circle, Lexington Park, for a reported theft. The victim advised that a Western Flyer bicycle and a go-cart had been stolen from her back yard. (0682005028)

On Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 9:45 am, TFC A. Rossignol arrested Julie Elizabeth Mayer, 24, of Solomons, on a St. Mary’s County Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in Court to answer to charges of failure to immediately return and remain at the scene of an accident involving bodily injury, and failure of vehicle driver to stop after unattended property damage accident. Ms. Mayer was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held until posting a $3,500 bond. (EE13908)

On Thursday, May 11, 2006, TFC J. Linger filed charges against a 15 year old, from Mechanicsville, for Motor Vehicle Theft, Theft over $500 and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. These charges resulted from a reported vehicle theft from Lottie Dent Elementary School on March 30, 2006. The juvenile was found in possession of the stolen vehicle in the State of Maine. On Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 11:55 am, TFC L. Nims arrested Joshua Alexander Mason, 22, of Clements, on a St. Mary’s County Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in Court to answer to a charge of driving while suspended. Mr. Mason was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held without bond. (DV48684)

On Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 12:09 pm, TFC L. Nims observed the driver of a Cavalier was not wearing a seatbelt. He stopped that vehicle on Fenwick Street in the area of Gregory Drive, Leonardtown. Upon contact with the driver, Gary Wayne Wommack, 22, of Lusby, an odor of burnt marijuana was detected. As Mr. Wommack exited his vehicle, a smoking device with a large clomp of burnt marijuana, was observed lying on the ground. The pipe was retrieved and found to be warm. Mr. Wommack was placed under arrest. A search of the vehicle revealed numerous illegal fireworks in the trunk. Fire Marshal C. Dammann responded to the barrack for further investigation. Over 500 illegal fireworks were seized. Mr. Wommack was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia and Possession with intent to Discharge Fireworks, without the required permit. Investigation is continuing by the Fire Marshal’s Office. All seized fireworks were turned over to FM Dammann.

On Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 12:58 pm, TFC J. Linger stopped a vehicle on Route 4 at Patuxent Blvd, California, for having a cracked windshield. The driver was also observed not wearing a seatbelt. During a consent search, a pat down of the driver, Timothy Allan Martin, 37, of Hollywood, was conducted. Located in his pants pocket was a smoking device with burnt CDS residue. Mr. Martin was placed under arrest. A secondary search was completed upon arriving at the detention center. Located in his underwear was a cellophane bag containing marijuana. Mr. Martin was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. He was held at the Detention Center pending a bail review. (0682005079)

On Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 5:46 pm, TFC S. VanBennekum served Joseph Robert Anderson, 20, of Mechanicsville, with a summons to appear in court to answer to a Trespassing charge. This charge resulted from an investigation at the Wildewood Swim Club on May 2, 2006. (6Q00033459)

On Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 6:18 pm, Tpr. T. Long arrested Robert E. Newton, 43, of Great Mills, on a St. Mary’s County Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in Court to answer to charges of possession of CDS and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Newton was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held on no bond. (4Q00030230)

On Friday, May 12, 2006 at 5:20 pm, TFC J. Linger arrested Louis Jerome Wood, 45, of Waldorf, on a Charles County Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in Court to answer to a charge of driving while suspended. Mr. Wood was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held until posting a $3,000 bail. (CM12213)

On Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 6:46 am, Tpr. K. Shughart responded to 17000 block of Piney Point Road, Piney Point, for a reported assault. Investigation revealed that an argument began when Amy Roberta Fitzgerald, 34, of Piney Point, refused to leave the property after previously being issued a no trespassing order. Ms. Fitzgerald was arrested and charged with Trespassing. She was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review. (0682005169)

On Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 3:53 pm, TFC J. Linger stopped a vehicle on Kavanagh Rd at Laurel Grove Road, Loveville, for displaying expired tags. Upon contact with the driver, Alvie Gordon Johnson, 43, of Waldorf, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. After failing field sobriety tests, Mr. Johnson was arrested. A check through MVA indicated Mr. Johnson’s driving privilege was suspended. A search, incident to arrest, was conducted on the vehicle. A paper napkin, containing “crack” cocaine, was recovered. Mr. Johnson was charged with DUI, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia and Driving while Suspended. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review. (0682005180)
