Two Arrested for Drugs in Loveville


Following a several month narcotics investigation, Detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations Drug Enforcement Division executed a Search Warrant on a Loveville home. The target of the search warrant was James A. Fenwick and he was located inside the target home. Approximately one half ounce of power and crack cocaine was located as well as a quantity of marijuana, more than $2,300 in currency to include at least one (1) counterfeit bill, two (2) handguns, one of which was stolen and other related paraphernalia. Suspect Fenwick was arrested and charged with the possession of cocaine and additional charges are expected pending a State’s Attorney’s Office and Grand Jury review.

A second suspect was also arrested. Valerie Barnes (39 years old of Loveville) was taken into custody for two (2) open warrants for possession of controlled dangerous substances. Four (4) other occupants of the target residence will be facing misdemeanor controlled substance violations.

BCI Narcotics Detectives were assisted by the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Team, Charles County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Team, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Officers as well as Maryland State Police Patrol Officers.
