Leonardtown Man Arrested for Illegal Prescription Drugs


On April 27, 2006 Detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations Narcotics Division executed a Search and Seizure Warrant on the home of Suspect Craig Wesley Norton, located in Leonardtown. Detectives conducted the investigation into Suspect Norton's sale of prescription drugs. Numerous illegal prescription pills were recovered along with more than $1,500.00 in United States Currency. Suspect Norton was arrested and charged with possession of the illegal prescription pills and possession of prescription medication with the intent to distribute. A second suspect could be charged and that is pending a review with the State's Attorney's Office.

The St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.
