On 04-20-06 DFC Charles Earl # 140 was on patrol in the area of Nicolet park. He observed an occupied suspicious vehicle parked near the children's play area. He approached the vehicle, and observed a white female attempting to conceal something. Once at the vehicle he observed a homemade smoking pipe, several white rocks of cocaine, and a razorblade with cocaine residue on it, sitting in plain view, on the passenger front seat. Dfc Earl arrested the suspect who was identified as 30 year old Shenandoah Benton, from Leonardtown. A search incident to arrest was conducted and two more cocaine rocks, a baggy containing powder cocaine, and a glass smoking device were found. The suspect was transported to the St Mary's County Detention Center, and charged with Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance not Marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
