On Wednesday, April 19, Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. announced that the Board of Public Works approved $200,000 in Program Open Space funds for streetscape improvements to the North Beach Waterfront Park in Calvert County. Improvements to the park include the installation of flower boxes, lights, shade structures, trash receptacles, informational signs and benches.
The Board of Public Works also approved $58,000 in Program Open Space funds for renovations to the Lions Camp Merrick Recreation Hall and Arts and Crafts buildings in Nanjemoy, Charles County. Renovations to the interiors of these buildings include upgrades to the electrical system and installation of new lighting, fans, air conditioning and heating. In addition, handicapped accessible bathrooms will be installed in the Recreation Hall.
