MSP Reports for St. Mary's


On Monday, April 17, 2006 at 12:05 pm, TFC J. Linger responded to Myrtle Point Park, California, to check the welfare of occupants which were parked at the rear of the park. Upon contact with the driver, Joshua Ralph Demmick, 19, of Lexington Park, loose pieces of marijuana were observed on his clothing. A probable cause search was conducted. A bag of marijuana and a ceramic smoking device, with marijuana residue, was located in his jacket pocket. A search of the vehicle revealed Xanax pills in the ashtray, for which he had no prescription. Mr. Demmick was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Xanax, and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review. (068200420.)

On Monday, April 17, 2006 at 11:28 pm, TFC L. Nims stopped a vehicle on Route 5 at Golden Beach Road, Charlotte Hall, for having an inoperable headlight. The driver, Brian Patrick Jett, 25, of Mechanicsville, was unable to answer questions of where he was going or whose vehicle he was operating. Along with several other indicators a probable cause search was conducted. Located in his pants pocket were several Hydrocodone pills. Mr. Jett was arrested and charged with Possession of Hydrocodone and Unlawfully Omitting a Label on a Prescription Drug. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review. (0682004225)

On Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 2:30 am, TFC L. Nims stopped a vehicle for speeding, 73 mph in a 55 mph zone, on Route 5 at New Market Turner Road in Mechanicsville. The driver was identified as Collins Oloboda Akintade Jr., 19, of Mechanicsville. While writing the citation, Mr. Akintade was observed to lie down across the seat to a point where he could not be seen. TFC Nims approached the vehicle and observed Mr. Akintade reaching under the glove box. He was immediately removed from the vehicle and a search of the area was conducted. Located was a switch blade. Mr. Akintade was arrested and charged with Possession of a Concealed Dangerous Weapon. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review. (0682004230)

On Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 6:43 pm, TFC J. Fleetwood arrested Joseph Daniel Bynum, 20, of Faulkner, on a Circuit Court Warrant for DUI. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held until posting a $350 bail. (18K05000587)

On Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 9:20 pm, TFC J. Fleetwood arrested Mercedes Denise Walker, 21, of Washington DC, on a District Court Warrant for Failing to Appear in Court to answer to a charge of driving on an out of state suspended license. Ms. Walker was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held until posting $3,500 bail. (DX93315)
