MSP Reports for St. Mary's


On Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 9:27 am, TFC T. Quade stopped a vehicle for speeding, 62 mph in a 40 mph zone, on Route 235 at Exploration Park Drive, Lexington Park. The driver was identified as Richard Clarke Frame, 25, of Lexington Park. A check through MVA/NCIC indicted Mr. Frame's driving privilege was suspended and he was wanted by the Calvert County Sheriffs Department. Mr. Frame was arrested and taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. A secondary search was conducted and a partially burnt marijuana cigarette was located in his sock. Mr. Frame was charged with Possession of Marijuana and held pending a bail review. (0682004001)

On Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 12:20 am, Tpr. K. Shughart arrested Emily Mae Semones, 18, of Callaway, on a Charles County Arrest Warrant for charges of burglary, theft and malicious destruction of property. Ms. Semones was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bail review. (0P00048797)

On Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 11:25 am, TFC T. Quade responded to the 22000 block of Sara Court, Great Mills, for a reported destruction of property. Investigation revealed that the windshield, of the victim's vehicle, had been smashed by a large rock. (0682004035)

On Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 11:46 am, TFC J. Linger responded to the Foodlion parking lot, Charlotte Hall, for a reported suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was located parked in the fire lane. As TFC Linger pulled in behind the vehicle, the driver began to pull off but then stopped. The driver was identified as Barbara Louise Varner, 27, of Prince Frederick. Contact was made with two Foodlion employees who advised they called the police after they became concerned about the health of Ms. Varner. A check through MVA indicated that Ms. Varner's driving privilege was suspended. Due to Ms. Varner's actions, she was asked to perform the field sobriety tests. After performing unsatisfactorily on the tests, Ms. Varner was arrested for DUI and Driving while Suspended. A search of the vehicle revealed a metal smoking device with burnt CDS residue in her purse. Located in the center console was a prescription bottle containing numerous filters containing burnt CDS residue. A breath test was given indicating no alcohol present on her breath. A Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) was requested. After a complete evaluation by the DRE, blood was taken and sent to MSP lab for analysis. Ms. Varner was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bail review. (0682004039)

On Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 1:13 pm, Tpr. T. Long arrested Stephen Bernard Guy, 45, of Loveville, on a Maryland Fugitive Warrant. Mr. Guy had an open warrant in Virginia for stolen vehicle. Mr. Guy was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending an extradition hearing. (3Q00032924)

On Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 1:30 pm, TFC T. Quade stopped a vehicle on Pegg Lane at Pegg Road, Lexington Park, for having rear tires and rims protruding out from the vehicle. The driver was identified as Sherry Lee Hawkins, 35, of Lexington Park. A pat down for weapons was conducted and a bulge was detected in her pants pocket. Ms. Hawkins removed the item, a folded dollar bill. The bill was unfolded and contained inside was a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine. Ms. Hawkins was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine. She was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bail review. (0682004049)

On Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 3:03 pm, Tpr. T. Long arrested Talmadege Jay Jones, 33, of Great Mills, on an Arrest Warrant for a Theft charge. Mr. Jones was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bail review. (5Q00033220)

On Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 9:35 pm, Cpl. C. Tyer arrested Shanita Renee Williams, 21, of Stafford VA, on a Maryland Fugitive Warrant. Ms. Williams had an open arrest warrant in Virginia for failing to appear in court to answer to a traffic violation. Ms. Williams was being held at the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending an extradition hearing. (2Q00032776)

On Friday, April 14, 2006 at 6:33 am, Tpr. K. Shughart arrested Jeffrey Dale Springer, 30, of Salisbury, on a Wicomico County Bench Warrant for failing to complete community service. Mr. Springer was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bail review. (AM31712)

On Friday, April 14, 2006 at 2:25 pm, Tpr. T. Long initiated an investigation into the theft of money from a resident of the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. Investigation will be continued by TFC J. Fleetwood. (0682004090)

On Friday, April 14, 2006 at 2:30 pm, TFC J. Linger arrested David Arnold Jr., 38, of Leonardtown, on a Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in Court to answer to a charge of driving while suspended. He was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held until posting a $3,500 bail. (DX94912)

On Friday, April 14, 2006 at 5:23 pm, TFC T. Quade stopped a vehicle for having an inoperable brake light on Route 235 at Route 246, Lexington Park. While the vehicle was stopping, the driver was observed to be reaching toward the center console. A probable cause search was conducted. Located in the center console was a clear plastic baggie containing marijuana. The driver was identified as Terrance Keith Johnson, 39, of Lexington Park. Mr. Johnson was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana. He was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bail review. (0682004095)

On Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 9:21 am, TFC J. Linger stopped a vehicle on Route 237 at Military Lane, Great Mills, when the brake lights on the vehicle and trailer were observed to be nonfunctioning. Upon contact with the driver, Devone Michael Thompson, 36, he advised he did not have a license. A check through MVA indicated Mr. Thompson did not have a license and his driving privilege was suspended and revoked. Mr. Thompson was placed under arrest. The passenger, identified as Joseph Lavon Mason, 32, of Mechanicsville, was asked to exit the vehicle. A probable cause search of Mr. Mason revealed a cellophane bag containing cocaine in his front pants pocket. Mr. Mason was placed under arrest. Mr. Thompson was charged with Driving while Suspended/Revoked. Mr. Mason was charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. Both were taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bail review. (0682004128)

On Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 1:37 pm, Tpr. T. Long responded to the 17000 block of Piney Point Road, Piney Point, for a reported assault. Initial investigation revealed that three subjects began arguing which escalated into a physical altercation. Victim/suspect #2 sustained minor injuries after being struck in the mouth. She refused to let Second District Volunteer Rescue Squad personnel care for her injury. Investigation is continuing. (0682004133)

On Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 11:00 am, TFC R. Rezza was contacted by victim #1, who advised that several checks had been stolen from his check book. Investigation revealed that Jamie Lynn Parady, 23, of Lexington Park, had taken the stolen checks and made purchases at several different businesses. On Sunday, April 16, 2006 at 1:15 am, TFC R. Rezza arrested Jamie Lynn Parady, 23, of Lexington Park, on an Arrest Warrant for Forgery (5 counts), Theft (7 counts) and Uttering a False Document (5 counts) charges. Ms. Parady was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bail review. (06820045005, 5Q00033241)
