WANTED: The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Crystal Dawn Queen, 33, of Indian Head. Queen is wanted for failure to pay more than $4,000 in child support. Anyone with information about Queen’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-609-6499.

CARJACKING: On April 10 at 3:17 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 8000 block of Norwich Court in Port Tobacco for the report of a carjacking. Investigation revealed a 38-year-old La Plata man picked up the suspect, another man whom the victim is familiar with. As they were driving on Route 227, the suspect put his hand in his pocket, said he had a gun and ordered the victim to drive to Norwich Court. The victim complied and whey the arrived, the suspect took the victim’s wallet and told him to get out of the vehicle. The victim complied and the suspect drove the victim’s vehicle about 200 yards down the road and pulled into a driveway. The suspect exited the vehicle and the victim chased him through a wooded area for the next half-hour to an hour. The victim recovered his wallet from the street and the vehicle was recovered with no damage. The suspect is described as a black male between 34 and 38 years of age. He is 5 feet 5 inches tall and has a thin build. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-2222. Officer D. THEFT: Sometime between 11 p.m. April 8 and 1:30 a.m. April 9, suspect(s) shattered the front passenger window of a 2004 white Chevrolet Malibu sedan parked at Legends, located at 1290 Smallwood Drive in Waldorf. The suspect(s) stole a purse that was on the floor. The purse is described as tan with butterflies. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777. Officer J. Timko is investigating.

ARMED ROBBERY: On April 8 at approximately 9:30 p.m., a 14-year-old Waldorf boy was walking in the 900 block of Sloan Avenue in Waldorf and was talking on his cell phone. An older-model burgundy sedan passed him and the turned around and stopped next to him. The driver brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s cell phone. The rear passenger also brandished a handgun. The front passenger exited the car and told the victim to drop the phone. The victim complied. The passenger retrieved the cell phone and returned the car, and the suspects fled toward Barksdale Avenue. The victim walked home, told his parents and called 9-1-1. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspects. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777. Officer A. DRUG POSSESSION: On April 1 at 9:04 a.m., Officer D. Walker of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office stopped a car on Mattawoman-Beantown Road near Shlagel Road in Waldorf for driving south in the northbound left turn lane. Investigation revealed the driver’s license was suspended and she wanted in Montgomery County. Officer Walker arrested the driver and transported her to the Charles County Detention Center. While she was being processed at the detention center, an investigation revealed she had provided the officer with a false name and she was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was identified as Monica Renee Dowdy, 30, of Takoma Park and was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, providing a false statement to a police officer, driving while suspended and failure to drive the designated way on a one-way road. Further investigation revealed she was also wanted in Prince George’s County for driving while suspended and driving while uninsured and she has several aliases.

ASSAULT: On March 27 at 6 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 2700 block of Grindall Court in Waldorf for the report of a domestic assault. Investigation revealed a 38-year-old man pushed his 48-year-old girlfriend, threw furniture, broke her cell phone and fled into the woods. Officers began a search and quickly located him as he emerged from the woods near Brightwell Court. He was arrested and charged with second degree assault and destruction of property. Officer D. Walker investigated.

ASSAULT: On March 27 at 3:20 p.m., Officer D. Walker was patrolling Amber Leaf Place in Waldorf when he saw a large group of juveniles. As he approached to investigate, he found two girls, ages 12 and 13, who were fighting. Both girls were charged with second degree assault and were released to their parents.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE: On March 21 at 7:18 a.m., Officer C. Schmidt of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle for failing to turn right in a right-turn-only lane in the 3300 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf. Investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen in Anne Arundel County and the driver, Kasim Olakunle Afolabi, 29, of Riverdale, was in possession of marijuana and a concealed asp baton. Afolabi was charged with motor vehicle theft, theft of property valued at more than $500, possession of marijuana, possession of a concealed deadly weapon and failure to obey a traffic control device. He was held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
