MSP Reports for Charles County


ACCIDENT: 03/31/06 3:28 p.m. A 2001 Chevrolet Malibu being operated by Carrie Lenora Donaldson, 64 years, of Fort Washington, exited a parking lot and attempted to cross all of the northbound lanes of U.S. Rt. 301 to get into the left turn lane. A 2004 Harley Davidson 1200 motorcycle being operated by Kenneth Norman Dorvee, 58 years, of Upper Marlboro, was traveling northbound on U.S. Rt. 301, south of Central Avenue when he was cut off by the Donaldson vehicle, subsequently striking the vehicle in the rear. Mr. Dorvee and his passenger, Keith Evan Dorvee, 18 years, of Upper Marlboro, were ejected from the motorcycle. They received incapacitating injuries and were flown to Prince George’s Hospital by Maryland State Police helicopter, Trooper 2, and U.S. Park Police helicopter, Eagle 1. Ms. Donaldson was not injured and was cited with failure to yield the right of way. U.S. Rt. 301 was shut down for approximately 20 minutes. Tpr. C. Stevenson conducted this investigation.

POSSESSION OF CDS: 04/01/06 6:43 p.m. A lookout was given for a possible drunk driver traveling northbound on U.S. Rt. 301 at Mattawoman Drive. The vehicle was located and upon contact with the driver, Robert Louis Cyrus IV, 35 years, of Lanham, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected on his breath. Mr. Cyrus failed sobriety tests and he was arrested. A search incident to arrest revealed suspected cocaine, suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Cyrus was subsequently charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was incarcerated in the Charles County Detention Center pending a bond review. TFC J. Edelen conducted this investigation.
