Waldorf Man Arrested for Three Armed Robberies

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Kenneth Morgan, 25, of Waldorf in connection with three recent armed robberies in Waldorf.

The most recent robbery occurred on March 29 at AMF Bowl, located at 11920 Acton Lane in Waldorf. At about 11:45 p.m., Morgan robbed a 27-year-old Waldorf man outside the bowling alley. During the robbery, there was a struggle and Morgan cut the victim with a razor blade. Morgan fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

The Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Morgan and obtained a warrant for his arrest the following day. Morgan was arrested March 30 and charged with armed robbery, first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. He is being held at the Charles County Detention Center on $175,000 bond.

Detectives continued to investigate Morgan’s involvement in other armed robberies. On April 1, they charged him in connection with a home invasion that occurred on Jan. 3 at 8:30 p.m. Morgan and another suspect entered a residence in the 3200 block of Westdale Court where a party was being held. Armed with a handgun, they stole the victims’ pants, wallets, cell phones and money and fled the residence on foot. None of the victims were injured. Morgan was charged with eight counts of armed robbery, 17 counts of first- and second-degree assault and using a handgun in commission of a violent crime. He is being held at the Detention Center on those charges on $200,000 bond. The second suspect in that investigation has not been identified.

On April 4, detectives obtained a third warrant for Morgan, charging him in connection with another armed robbery outside AMF Bowl. On March 10 at 11:30 p.m., Morgan approached two Brandywine boys, ages 13 and 16, outside the bowling alley. He brandished a handgun and stole a wallet and a cell phone and fled toward Homestead Place. The Sheriff’s Office expects to serve the warrant for this case this afternoon.

Detectives are continuing to investigate whether Morgan has been involved in any additional robberies.
