Dog Severely Bites Daughter of Owner in Chesapeake Beach

On Sunday, April 2 Animal Control Officer II (ACO) C. Dichter was dispatched at 12:50 p.m. to a residence on Cheryl Lane in Chesapeake Beach for a victim with severe dog bites. The dog was reported to be still at large. After arriving, ACO Dichter was able to secure the two-year-old German Shepard dog onto his vehicle. The victim, who is in her twenties and is the daughter of the dog owner, was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital by North Beach Ambulance where she was treated for multiple lacerations to both hands and the left elbow. The animal had gotten out of the residence and when the victim attempted to bring the dog back inside, he bit her. The dog’s owner is currently unavailable to care for the dog, so the German Shepard was transported to the Tri-County Animal Shelter for the ten-day quarantine period.
