SHOPLIFTING: On March 18 at 7:05 p.m., Officer D. Snyder responded to Kohls at 11112 Mall Circle in Waldorf for the report of three shoplifters in custody. Investigation revealed two 15-year-old girls and a 16-year-old girl, all of Waldorf, removed clothing from display racks and concealed it after removing the tags. They attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise but loss prevention personnel stopped and detained them until police arrived. They were all charged with theft of property valued at less than $500 and were released to their parents.
MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT: Sometime between 9 a.m. and 8:50 p.m. March 18, suspect(s) stole a 1975 Bultaco Matidor motorcycle from a residence in the 200 block of Compton Road in Waldorf. The motorcycle is red and gray and both tires are flat. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriffs Office at 301-932-7777. Officer D. Snyder is investigating.
WARRANT SWEEP: The Charles County Sheriffs Office conducted a warrant sweep between 5 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. March 17 in the La Plata and Indian Head districts. Nine people were arrested and 14 warrants for charges including theft and drug violations were served. Several of the wanted persons attempted to flee but officers quickly apprehended them without further incident. The Warrant/Fugitive, Child Support and Domestic Violence units and the Tactical Response Squad participated in the operation.
