ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: On March 16 at 7:54 p.m., a male suspect entered the Chaney Enterprises building located at 12480 Mattawoman Drive in Waldorf and attempted to gain entry into American Car Rental and State Farm Insurance, whose offices are located inside the building. The suspect(s) also attempted to gain access to Chaney Enterprises on the third floor but were unsuccessful in forcing entry through the locked stairwell door. The suspect fled undetected and is described as a black male between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall. He weighs about 180 pounds and is between 22 and 25 years of age. He is unshaven and was wearing a black jacket, jeans and a black do-rag. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriffs Office at 301-932-7777. Officer R. RELATED BURGLARIES: On March 17 at 5:40 a.m., suspect(s) forced entry into Cingular, located a 3650 Crain Highway in Waldorf, stole two cash register drawers and several cell phones and fled the scene. At 5:57 a.m., suspect(s) forced entry into Wine Cellar at 2971 Festival Way in Waldorf and stole liquor and scratch-off lottery tickets. A witness saw four males exit the store with boxes. They fled in two vehicles: a tan or gold passenger car, possibly a Dodge, and a blue Dodge Caravan. Police believe the incidents are related and citizens who were at the Park and Ride at the corner of Smallwood Drive and Crain Highway across from Cingular may have information to contribute to the investigation.
