Dennis Jack Hubscher (R) of Hollywood MD appeared at the Saint Marys County Board of Elections today and filed for the office of President of the Board of County Commissioners. This is Hubscher's second attempt at election to the Board of County Commissioners. He hopes to succeed current President Thomas McKay (R). McKay is making a bid to take Roy Dyson's long-held seat in the Maryland Senate. Three other Democrats have already filed to compete for the Board Presidency including Merl Evans, Michael L. Hewitt, and Jack Russell.
According to the candidate, he is a Certified Public Accountant, real estate broker/investor, and a former financial management officer of more than 30 years experience with the U. S. Departments of the Interior, Commerce, and the Pacific Northwest Regional Commission. His educational credentials include a master's degree in general administration from the University of Maryland and an undergraduate degree from Benjamin Franklin University. He is a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, where he served as its class vice-president. Hubscher also participated in doctoral studies in public affairs at the University of Southern California in Washington D.C.
