ASSAULT: On March 15 at 5:52 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to Nate and Corys Barbershop at 7155 Indian Head Highway in Indian Head for the assault report. Investigation revealed Tommy Lionel Templeton, 49, of Indian Head pointed a shotgun at a 40-year-old Prince Georges County man and threatened him. Templeton then fled the scene in a Buick. Officers observed the Buick traveling south on Indian Head Highway and stopped it on Weaver Street. Officers arrested Templeton without incident. He was charged with first degree assault and carrying a dangerous and deadly weapon with intent to injure and was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the district court commissioner. PEDESTRIAN CRASH: On March 15 at 5:37 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to the intersection of Acton Lane and Western Parkway in Waldorf for the report of a crash involving a pedestrian. Investigation revealed a 12-year-old Waldorf girl was attempting to cross Acton Lane near the intersection but failed to yield the right of way to a Ford Explorer traveling south on Acton Lane. The Explorer, driven by Cordelia Marie Cooper, 47, of Arlington, Va., subsequently struck the girl. A Maryland State Police helicopter flew the girl to Childrens Hospital in Washington, D.C., where she was treated for incapacitating but non-life-threatening injuries. Cpl. K. M. Wilson investigated.
DWI CRASH: On March 12 at 3:32 a.m., a Nissan Titan was traveling south on Indian Head Highway south of Wright Road in Bryans Road when it struck the rear of a southbound Ford Taurus. The Nissan did not stop and turned onto Chapmans Landing Road. Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to that area and located the Nissan. The driver was identified as Cristian Ivan Rojas, 26, of Annandale, Va. He was not injured but he was found to be intoxicated. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence, negligent driving, reckless driving and leaving the scene of a crash. A passenger in the Nissan, Fredis Bladimir Escobar, 26, of Annandale, and the driver of the Ford, Melvin Ignatius Smith, 50, of Indian Head, were also not injured. Rojas was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the district court commissioner. Officer C. W. Stufft investigated.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On March 8 at 5:30 p.m., Officer R. Kimble responded to a residence in the 2100 block of Greenwood Drive in Waldorf for the report of the destruction of property. Investigation reveled Rochelle Jo Ann Dames, 27, of Waldorf, keyed a 30-year-old Waldorf mans vehicle. Dames was charged with destruction of property valued at less than $500 and released.
