St. Mary's Announces Correctional Officer of the Quarter


Recently, Brian C. Gillingham was recognized as "Officer of the Quarter" for the fourth quarter of 2005. Correctional Officer First Class Brian C. Gillingham’s every day job performance shows a great deal of personal pride, professionalism, and dedication that is above and beyond the call of duty. He displays a pleasant, cheerful disposition and gives his subordinates and superiors a 100%. CFC Gillingham ensures the Maryland Commission on Correctional Standards audit compliance by ensuring the radio equipment is accounted for and in good working repair. He is a Correctional Officer Field Training Officer and additionally during the quarter became weapons certified assisting on many inmate transports. DFC Gillingham volunteers for overtime and when not on-duty promptly returns the call to report for duty when there is a staffing shortage.

Sheriff David D. Zylak took great pleasure in recognizing CFC Gillingham as Correctional Officer of the Fourth Quarter for his commitment to the agency and the citizens of St. Mary’s County.
