Burglary & Drug Arrest in Charles County


BURGLARY: Sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. March 7, suspect(s) kicked open the back door of a residence in the 2200 block of Davis Road in Waldorf, ransacked three bedrooms and stole several firearms. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-932-7777. Officer R. Kimble is investigating.

MARIJUANA POSSESSION: On March 5 at 10:25 p.m., Officers R. Kimble and J. Cooney were conducting a foot patrol of Drake Court when they observed two people walking in the area. When they saw the police, they turned around and walked away. Shortly thereafter, they returned. Investigation revealed Travis Dimitri Smoot, 20, of Waldorf was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the district court commissioner.
