On March 8 at 9:24 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's offices responded to a residence in the 6300 block of Hawthorne Road in Indian Head for a report of unknown trouble. Investigation revealed a 62-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman, who both live at the residence, were involved in a domestic argument when the woman picked up a kitchen knife. A witness told the woman not to stab the man so she threw the knife at the man, striking him in his leg. Emergency medical services personnel responded to the scene but the victim refused medical treatment. Alcohol was a factor in the incident. The woman was charged with first- and second-degree assault and is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the district court commissioner. Officer J. Long investigated.
