Tampering
Dfc. Jason Elliott responded to the sewage pumping station at B & 13th Streets in Chesapeake Beach on February 28 at 12:45 p.m. An employee of Chesapeake Beach Public Works informed him that there had been a sewage leak from a manhole overflow. Investigation revealed that the pumping station at B Street, which is supposed to pump the sewage away from overflowing manholes, had been tampered with. The pump switches had been placed in the "off" position causing the backup. Dfc. Elliott will continue the investigation.
Damaged Property
Dep. J.M. Bonville responded to the parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express in Solomons on February 28 in reference to a destruction of property to a vehicle. The victim reported that he rented a burgundy Chevrolet Trail Blazer from the National Rental Car Company at Reagan International Airport in Virginia and parked the vehicle in the parking lot of the hotel on February 27 at 9:00 p.m. When he returned to the vehicle that morning at 7:30, he discovered that there were two dents that had not been there previously. The amount of the damage is not known at this time. Dep. Bonville continues the investigation.
