Routine Traffic Stop Leads to Two Arrests on Route 235


0n 03-01-2006 at approximately 1508 hours, DFC Michael D. Peacher of the St Mary's County Sheriff's Office observed a 1993 Buick bearing Maryland Registration "9AL H09" traveling Northboud on Route 235 at Hewitt's Service Center. DFC Peacher observed the vehicle pass a stopped school bus that was operating alternately flashing red lights and was discharging passengers. DFC Peacher conducted a traffic stop, and made contact with the operator Charles Vernon Burroughs.

Investigation reveal that Charles Vernon Burroughs Maryland license is currently suspended and revoked. The vehicle he was operating is unregistered and uninsured. The front and rear registration plates on the vehicle were reported stolen. A female passenger in the vehicle was identified as Robin Ann Labbs, who was currently wanted for two open warrants. DFC Peacher arrested Charles Vernon Burroughs and Robin Ann Labbs.

Charles Burroughs age 42 from Dameron, was charged with Theft less than $500.00, Driving while suspended, driving while revoked, driving uninsured motor vehicle, operating unregistered motor vehicle, and failing to stop for stopped school vehicle operating flashing red lights.

Robin Ann Labbs age 34 from Dameron, was severed the two active warrants for prostitution and theft less than $100.00.
