ARMED ROBBERY: On Feb. 24 at 8:40 p.m., Officer J. Hopkins was at St. Charles Towne Center, located at 11110 Mall Circle in Waldorf, when four girls approached him to report they had been robbed in the mall parking lot. Investigation revealed a man approached the girls, implied he had a handgun and demanded their property. Two of the four girls complied and gave the man a purse and money. He then fled on foot. Patrol officers and members of the Tactical Response Squad searched the area but did not locate the suspect. He is described as black, dark complexioned and wearing all black clothing, including a hooded sweatshirt and a bandanna that covered his face. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and has a thin build. The girls - a 12-year-old and 16-year-old from Upper Marlboro, a 16-year-old from Fort Washington and a 17-year-old from Clinton - were not injured. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-932-7777. Officer Hopkins is investigating.
ARMED ROBBERY: On Feb. 24 at 6:45 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's Officers responded to the 1000 block of Bannister Circle for the report of an armed robbery. Investigation revealed two Waldorf boys, ages 15 and 16, were outside in the 1000 block of Bannister Circle when two other Waldorf boys, ages 13 and 17, approached them and attempted to rob them with a handgun. The victims fled. Officers located the suspects outside a residence nearby on Reston Place and apprehended them. The accused were charged with robbery. The younger accused was released to a guardian and the older accused is being held at the Cheltenham Youth Facility. Other charges are pending. Officer D. Snyder is continuing the investigating.
