BURGLARY: On Feb. 17 at approximately 3:15 a.m., suspect(s) shattered the glass door of Donut Connection at 3480 Leonardtown Road in Waldorf. The suspect(s) went inside the office and unplugged the security camera but they left without taking anything. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-932-7777. Officer C. Shaw is investigating.
ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING: On Feb. 19 at 9 a.m., Officer E. Starcher responded to an apartment in the 2000 block of Gallery Place in Waldorf for the report of an accidental shooting. Investigation revealed a 21-year-old man was cleaning his gun when he accidentally shot himself in his leg. He was flown to Prince George's Hospital Center's shock trauma unit. There were four other individuals in the apartment but they were not injured.
STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED: On Feb. 19 at 11 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the 400 block of University Drive in Waldorf for a citizen's report of a single vehicle crash in which the driver fled after striking a tree. While en route, officers learned the vehicle might have been stolen from a residence in the 700 block of University Drive. Officer E. Starcher responded to the scene of the crash and gave a lookout for the suspected driver. Officer C. Shaw observed the driver, a 16-year-old girl, walking nearby on Fillmore Road. Witnesses confirmed she was the driver who fled from the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle confirmed it had been stolen. Officer Y. Austin charged the girl with motor vehicle theft and released her to a guardian.
