BCI Narcotics Detectives, continuing an ongoing investigation, developed information regarding the transportation of controlled dangerous substances into St. Marys County. Surveillance was conducted and the target vehicle, a 1995 Chevrolet Corsica, was stopped. Narcotics Detectives, assisted by Patrol Officers, identified the operator of the vehicle as 19 year old Corey Belker of Waldorf. A search of the vehicle revealed more than $350.00 worth of marijuana, 29 ecstasy pills valued at $580.00 and more than $1,000.00 in U.S. currency.
Suspect Belker was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of ecstasy and possession of paraphernalia. He is currently awaiting a bond hearing before the District Court Commissioner.
Additional charges are pending a Grand Jury and States Attorney review.
The St. Marys County Bureau of Criminal Investigations is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Marys County Sheriffs Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.
