Next Edition of Southern Maryland Trails Guidebook to Feature Charles County Businesses and Sites

LA PLATA, MD—Preparation of the next edition of the Southern Maryland Trails Guidebook will begin in March. This new guide will feature Charles County sites, including local art studios and galleries, agritourism destinations (farms), gardens, museums related to natural resources or agriculture, natural or scenic sites (parks), lodgings and B&Bs, locally-owned restaurants, and historic sites.

Those in Charles County who own or manage any of the types of businesses and organizations listed above are encouraged to participate.

The guidebook will contain a wealth of information, including maps, directions and a description of each site, plus interesting tips and insight into our area's culture and natural history. Sites will be grouped in one of several ways, such as physical proximity or theme, and then marketed together as a unique experience, encouraging visitors to come from further distances and staying longer.

To find out if your Charles County business, organization, or site is eligible to participate in the Southern Maryland Trails program, complete the application form found at http://www.SoMDTrails.com/.
