Lexington Park Domestic Argument Ends Badly


On February 2, 2006 at 6:11 PM road patrol officers responded to a residence in Lexington Park for a reported shooting. Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations responded and assumed the investigation. Investigation revealed that Orlandous Brooks (57 years old), Sandra Brooks (64 years old) and Darrell Johnson (44 years old) from Lexington Park were engaged in a verbal argument at the residence. Orlandous Brooks displayed a handgun during the argument. A brief struggle ensued between Mr. Johnson and Mr. Brooks over the handgun and one round was discharged. Sandra Brooks was struck with the projectile in the upper left side of her rib cage. She was transported to P.G. Shock trauma by MSP Helicopter Trooper 7 were she remains in critical but stable condition. Charges are pending review with the St. Mary’s County States Attorneys Office.

The St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.
