Off-Duty Trooper Makes Arrest for Assault; Drugs Found on Suspect


01/22/06 12:13 a.m. While off duty, TFC J. Edelen observed Amando L. Sanchez, 27 year, of Temple Hills, hit an unknown male in the face while standing in the lobby of the Holiday Inn in Waldorf. TFC Edelen attempted to arrest Mr. Sanchez when Mr. Sanchez became disorderly and resisted arrest. Tpr. A. Kolle responded to the scene to assist with the arrest. Mr. Sanchez was arrested and a search incident to arrest revealed suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia on his person. He was subsequently charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was incarcerated in the Charles County Detention Center pending a bond review.
