The Charles County Sheriff's Office served more than 20 warrants between 4 p.m. and midnight on Jan. 25 during a successful warrant sweep conducted in Waldorf and the western area of Charles County. More than a dozen people were arrested in the operation. Eighteen officers from the Judicial Services Section, the Tactical Response Squad and the Maryland State Police and two correctional officers participated in the sweep.
Police served 16 district court warrants, seven circuit court warrants, three criminal summons and an out-of-county warrant. The warrants were for thefts, assaults, traffic violations, child support violations, narcotics violations and contempt of court charges.
