On Jan. 20 at 12:06 a.m. Officer C. Shaw conducted a traffic stop on an Acura on Leonardtown Road near St. Charles Parkway in Waldorf for crossing the center line. Officer Shaw obtained the driver's information and returned to his vehicle. The driver then fled the vehicle on foot toward Northgate. Officers found the driver hiding the in the backyard of a residence in the 3900 block of Northgate Place. He was identified as Norman Edwin Williams, 25, of Fort Washington. A search of the vehicle revealed he was in possession of PCP and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and charged with drug possession and traffic violations and is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
