On Jan. 16 at approximately 7:30 p.m., a 13-year-old Waldorf boy and his friend were walking in the area of Barksdale and Sloan avenues in Waldorf when a truck stopped beside them. Two of the five occupants of the truck exited it wearing ski masks. One of the occupants chased the 13-year-old and the other chased his friend, who headed in another direction. The first suspect caught the 13-year-old in the 200 block of Barksdale Avenue, brandished a handgun and demanded the victim's North Face jacket. The suspect stole the jacket and returned to the vehicle with the other suspect. The vehicle fled westbound on Barksdale Avenue.
The victim said he did not think his friend had been caught but while the investigating officer was gathering information, the victim's brother came home said he had spoken with the victim's friend, who said he had been robbed by the other suspect. Neither the 13-year-old victim nor his brother could provide any information about the second victim other than a first name and the Sheriff's Office did not receive any similar robbery reports. The suspects are described only as black males. The truck is described as a red Expedition-like vehicle. Anyone with information about this investigating is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-932-7777. Officer P. McPherson is investigating.
