Several Thefts & Burglaries in Charles County


THEFT: Sometime between 3:30 p.m. Jan. 7 and 12:30 a.m. Jan. 8, suspect(s) stole the rear tag from a truck parked in the 11100 block of Mall Circle in Waldorf. It is a Maryland tag bearing registration 71P481. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-932-7777. Officer G. THEFT: Sometime between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Jan. 6, suspect(s) entered a residence in the 5500 block of Winston Vines Place in Indian Head and stole a firearms safe containing pistols, shotguns and assault rifles. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-743-2222. Cpl. R. Cadrette is investigating.


THEFT: Sometime between 4 and 4:30 p.m. Jan. 7, four male suspects entered Bullocks Music at 4429 Crain Highway in White Plains. One of the suspects distracted the clerk with questions while the other suspects took five symbols and a timbale from boxes. The suspects then fled without paying for the instruments. The suspects are described as black males wearing dark clothing. One of the suspects is between 15 and 20 years old, is about 6 feet tall and weighs 185 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket, a blue shirt, black jeans, a black "beanie" cap and eyeglasses. Another suspect is also between 15 and 20 years old. He is about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs about 150 pounds and was wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black beanie cap. The other two suspects are described only as black males wearing black sweatshirts and blue jeans. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-932-2222. Officer C. Caldwell is investigating.


BURGLARY: On Jan. 6 at 1:30 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to Wal-Mart at 11930 Acton Lane in Waldorf for a citizen's report of someone possibly attempting to break into the business through a back door. Officers found a vehicle parked behind the business but when they attempted to approach the vehicle, it fled at a high rate of speed. Cpl. T. Huntt attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the driver did not stop and a chase ensued. Other officers searched Wal-Mart and found it had been broken into and items were stolen. The chase continued into Prince George's County but the driver stopped on Hickory Bend Road when his vehicle's engine failed. Officers apprehended the driver, Paul O'Keeffe Gough, 40, and the passenger, Teresa Michelle Watts, 25, both of Anderson, S.C. The vehicle had been reported stolen in Anderson. Gough and Watts were charged with second degree burglary. They are being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending appearances before the District Court Commissioner.


BURGLARY: On Jan. 7 at 2:20 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to White Plains Wine and Spirits at 4425 Crain Highway in White Plains for the intrusion alarm. Investigation revealed suspect(s) forced entry to the business, stole an undisclosed amount of money and liquor and fled. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-932-2222. Officer J. McGuigan is investigating.
