MSP Reports for Calvert County


THEFT: During the overnight hours of 1-4, an unknown culprit entered a vehicle on Dusk Dr., Prince Frederick, and removed a pair of diamond earrings. TPR Bigham is handling the investigation.

BURGLARY: During the overnight hours of 1-4, an unknown culprit forcibly entered a storage trailer parked at a construction site on Rousby Hall Rd., Lusby, and removed miscellaneous concrete finishing tools, a surface compactor, and a pressure washer. CIT is handling the investigation.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 1-7, 2:20 AM, Rt. 2/4, St. Leonard, TFC Huber stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the operator, a 17-year-old male, of Prince Frederick, TFC Huber detected the odor of suspected marijuana. A search was conducted and suspected marijuana was located in the vehicle. The juvenile was placed under arrest at that time for possession of marijuana. After processing, he was released to a parent.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 1-8, 1:15 PM, Bowie Ct., Lusby, Danyell Campbell, 35, of Lusby, was arrested for possession of marijuana, during a traffic stop by TFC Whipp. Mr. Campbell was wanted through the Calvert Co. Sheriff's Office on two outstanding warrants. Incident to arrest, the marijuana was found on his person. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner's hearing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 1-9, 9:32 PM, Rt. 2/4, Prince Frederick, CPL Bolger stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the occupants, CPL Bolger observed suspected marijuana. A search was conducted and suspected marijuana and a CDS smoking device were recovered. Arrested at that time for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia were Leonard Jay Flanagan, Jr., 20, of Lusby, and Justin Marcus Karwoski, 23, of Lusby. After processing, the two were transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner's hearing.

POSSESSION OF CRACK-COCAINE: On 1-10, 2:19 AM, Michael Anthony Flaherty, III, 21, of Edgewater, was arrested for possession of crack-cocaine and CDS paraphernalia, during a traffic stop on Grover's Turn Rd., Owings, by TFC Koch. A computer check revealed that Mr. Flaherty was wanted by MSP Centreville on an open warrant. After processing, he was incarcerated in the CCDC to await a commissioner's hearing.

SHOPLIFTING: On 1-11, 2:30 PM, TFC Bennett responded to The Shoe Department, Prince Frederick, for a shoplifting complaint. Investigation revealed that Robert Doral Harrod, 18, of Prince Frederick, and Clyde Germaine Richardson, 24, of Prince Frederick, had been observed by a store employee leaving the premises without paying for merchandise. Both men were charged on a criminal citation with theft (-$100) and released.
