On August 5th, 2005 Bureau of Criminal Investigations Detectives began an investigation into the alleged production of child pornography at a Hollywood, Maryland home. As a result of that investigation Kenneth Barker was arrested and charged locally with several criminal charges. The investigation continued and with the assistance of the Innocent Images Task Force (FBI) a federal indictment was issued.
During the execution of a Search and Seizure Warrant, computers and related paraphernalia were recovered. The Internet Crime Against Children (MSP) Computer Forensic Investigators also assisted and were able to extract an abundance of evidence from the seized electronic equipment.
Suspect Barker was turned over to Federal Bureau of Investigation Agents today and is awaiting a hearing in Federal Court located in Greenbelt, Maryland. Suspect Barker faces one (1) one count of production of child pornography and faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison under Federal law.
