$5,000 Reward Offered in September Days Inn Murder


The Charles County Sheriff's Office and Charles County Crime Solvers are seeking information about the murder of Jerry Alan Wills III, a Days Inn employee that was killed Sept. 23 at the hotel. Crime Solvers has offered its reward of up to $1,000 and now an anonymous donor has recently contributed $4,000 to the reward fund.

Sheriff's officers responded to Days Inn at 11370 Days Court in Waldorf at 2:47 p.m. for the report of the homicide. Investigation revealed someone entered the hotel and shot and killed Wills, 19, of Waldorf in the front desk area. Detectives investigating the murder have not established a motive and continue to explore all possibilities.

A witness saw someone leaving the scene and described the person as a black male in his late teens wearing a skull cap and a dark shirt. He was said to be about 5 feet 9 inches tall and have a medium complexion and an average build. Detectives have not identified this man but believe he was involved in the murder.

The victim was 19 years old and was originally from Chambersburg, Pa. He had been living in Waldorf since January 2005.
