The Board of Commissioners for St. Mary's County and the Department of Public Works & Transportation are pleased to announce the promotion of Jacqueline Fournier to the position of Transportation Manager. Her current duties will be expanded to include management of STS transit, non-public school bus transportation, fleet maintenance and the metro-mail system.
Jackie has been a County resident for over 35 years. She received her Bachelor's Degree from St. Mary's College of Maryland and has been working as an activity and transportation supervisor with the County since 1991. Ms. Fournier has also been recognized by the County and the State as playing a major role with public transit, human services transportation, and providing opportunities that foster independence for those with limited transportation options. She was recently designated as a Certified Community Transit Manager by the national Community Association of America and currently serves as Vice President of the Transportation Association of Maryland, as well as chairperson of the Training Committee.
"We are pleased to start off a new year with Ms. Fournier joining the Department's management team and are confident that she will prove to be a valuable asset in handling the transportation related programs assigned to this Department," stated George A. Erichsen, Director of the Department of Public Works & Transportation.
