MD State Police Reports for Calvert County


BURGLARY: On 12-23, TPR Dawson responded to the Solomons Medical Center, H. G. Trueman Rd., for an attempted burglary complaint. Investigation revealed that an unknown culprit had attempted to enter one of the office suites. During the afternoon, MSP was recontacted and advised that another office suite had been burglarized and prescription pads and currency had been stolen. CIT is handling the investigation.

SHOPLIFTING: On 12-24, 3:41 PM, TFC Huber responded to the Prince Frederick K-Mart for a shoplifting complaint. Investigation revealed that Stephanie Lea Hance, 19, of Port Republic, had been observed by a store employee leaving the premises without paying for merchandise. She was charged on a criminal citation with theft (-$100) and released.

BURGLARY: On 12-27, between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM, an unknown culprit entered a garage on Holland Cliffs Rd., Huntingtown, and removed a Milwaukee sawzall. The culprit also tampered with a safe. TPR Ewig is handling the investigation.

BURGLARY: On 12-28, the owner of a residence on Crazy Horse Trl., Lusby, reported that an unknown culprit had entered his residence and removed a phone. The culprit had used the phone to make $800+ in phonecalls to 900 numbers. TPR Stein is handling the investigation.

THEFT: On 1-1, between 2:00 AM and 9:00 AM, an unknown culprit had entered three vehicles parked on Long Beach Rd., St. Leonard. A small amount of change was taken from one vehicle. TFC Huber is handling the investigation.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 1-2, 12:43 AM, Rt. 2/4, St. Leonard, Linwood R. Thomas, Jr., 19, of Prince Frederick, was arrested for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia during a traffic stop. A baggie of suspected marijuana was located on Mr. Thomas after TFC Keen detected the odor of suspected marijuana. After processing, he was incarcerated in the CCDC to await a commissioner's hearing.

THEFT: During the overnight hours of 1-2, an unknown culprit entered a vehicle parked on Alton Ct., Prince Frederick, and removed a Pioneer stereo, a Bazooka subwoofer, and a CD visor containing 15 CD's. TPR Mounts is handing the investigation.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 1-3, TPR Dawson responded to Calvert High for a destruction of property complaint. Investigation revealed that an unknown culprit had broken two windows to a classroom trailer.
