The St. Mary's County Office of the Sheriff is seeking applicants to participate as members of a Citizen Advisory Board. The mission of the Board will be to assist the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office by making recommendations to the Sheriff regarding law enforcement matters and/or issues of St. Mary's County and thus assists the Sheriff in his responsibility to ensure the following:
-Enforcement of all laws applicable to St. Mary's County and the State of Maryland.
-Management of the Detention Center.
-Security of the Court System.
-Service of Writs of Execution, Attachments, Body Attachment, and Subpoenas for Civil and Criminal Court appearance.
-Protection of Persons from loss of life or injury.
-Protection of Property from loss.
Meeting Dates:
Monthly meetings will be held the 1st Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Training Room.
Board Composition:
The Board Composition shall be no less than 12 and no more than 28 board members.
Term Limit:
Board members shall serve no more than two (2) consecutive 3-year terms.

2. Complete the membership application and attach a Letter of Interest addressed to The Honorable David D. Zylak, 23150 Leonard Hall Drive, Leonardtown, MD 20650 including why you are applying. Please be sure to include a resume with a clear statement of current employment (job title, place of employment) or an indication if you are retired or not working. If a resume is not attached, your application will not be considered.
