Stealing Christmas Presents Misses the Point of Giving

On Dec. 14 at 2:25 p.m., Officer D. Benthin responded to Home Depot at 12050 Jefferson Farm Place in Waldorf for the report of a shoplifter. Investigation revealed Theodore Douglas Wilson, 44, of Washington, D.C., exited the store with two four-piece Milwaukee tool sets, a five-piece Milwaukee tool set and a roll of wrapping paper and did not pay for the merchandise. Loss prevention personnel at the store stopped Wilson and detained him until Officer Benthin arrived.

Officer Benthin arrested Wilson and charged him with theft more than $500. He is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
