Calvert Sex Offender Fails to Notify

On October 18, 2005 the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office received information that an address listed on the Maryland State Sexual Offender Registry as that of child sexual offender Paul Leroy Chew, was vacant. An investigation of the matter revealed that the information was correct and that Mr. Chew’s residence on Elsegunda Lane in Lusby was vacated on October 5, 2005.

The custodian of the Sexual Offender Registry for Calvert County, Corporal Joe Hollinger, applied for charges against Mr. Chew for failure to make notification of an address change within seven days. An arrest warrant was issued.

On November 15, 2005, Mr. Chew arrived at the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office for his annual registration and was placed under arrest. He was later released on $10,0000.00 bond. Mr. Chew was charged with the same offense in 2004.
